Aron's House – ASK's holiday gem in Båstad
In central Båstad, just a stone's throw from the sea, lies ASK's holiday home, Aron's House. The house was donated in 1975 by Aron and Paola Westerlund to the then Swedish School of Agricultural Sciences student union (now ASK and ULS), and has since been a valued retreat for the union's members.
Charming 18th century house with sea views
Arons Hus is a picturesque 18th century street house with a large, lush garden. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with fireplace, a bedroom and a study. There is also a shower and toilet. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms and a balcony with fantastic views of the sea.
In total, the house offers eight regular beds, with the possibility of extra mattresses. A maximum of 15 people can stay in the house at the same time.
Comfortable and well-equipped
The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. You can make a fire in the fireplace - just bring your own wood. The house also has WiFi, and both the balcony and veranda are furnished for relaxing moments in the sun.
Close to both beach and entertainment
The location is hard to beat, only about 150 meters to the beach and about 200 meters to the well-known Pepe's Bodega. Many student union members have spent memorable weekends and vacation weeks here, and it's easy to understand why.
Arons Hus is the perfect place for recovery, community and salt baths. Highly recommended by everyone who has been there!

Aaron's House - How it all began
"We would like to see the property preserved as a holiday or vacation home for students or executives at the School of Agricultural Sciences."
So wrote Aron and Paola Westerlund when they donated the house in Båstad to the student union in 1975. Aron – with the union name BUDDHA – was a prominent professor of animal anatomy and physiology, active at the Swedish School of Agricultural Sciences (now SLU) between 1932 and 1950.
He was very popular among the students and was active in both Alnarp and Ultuna. In 1934 he was elected inspector of the student union – a position he held until 1949. He himself described his student union life as:
"the most brilliant chapter in my life and living at the School of Agricultural Sciences."
It is said that he never felt older than the students he taught, and he often attended parties and dinners organized by the student union. Aron's memory lives on in the house that bears his name – a place created for rest, community and student tradition.
