As a new student, you have a lot to discover, both in your studies and in student life. To make your start as smooth and fun as possible, we have collected everything you need to know before the start of the semester. You will find everything about the activities during the first two weeks here !
Greetings from our chairman to you as a new student
Hello and welcome to Alnarp! My name is Jessica 'KillerQueen' Forsberg and I am the student union president for Alnarp's Student Union.
Look! You've already made your first friend, easy right?
You who are now sitting here, as a prospective student at SLU in Alnarp this fall, we would like to welcome you and above all, congratulations! You have made a fantastic choice. You have not only chosen a university with a world-class education, you have also taken a big step into a new chapter in your life, and we at the student union want to make your new chapter as good as possible!
During your first two weeks here on campus, we invite you to our welcome weeks, or “småttingar” weeks as we call them. This gives you the chance to meet your new classmates, other students on campus, and at the same time enjoy various activities and events. All new students, known as “småttingar”, are welcome to participate in all activities during the first two weeks.

The welcome weeks are for you as a new student to get to know the campus, the university, the student union and all our traditions and activities that take place here. It also creates opportunities for students from different years to get to know each other. New friends, new experiences and fun activities. A difficult combination, we think!
Chairman's best tips for the first few weeks:
Friends <3
Everyone is new at the beginning, take the opportunity to make new contacts! Over the years, everything from acquaintances to best friends and even life partners have met during the first few weeks. Besides, you have already become friends with me, the first is always the hardest so now it's just a matter of honk and drive!
Don't feel any pressure!
There is always something going on and it's okay to be involved in everything, or just pick a few occasions. Come as you are, you are very welcome to come as much as you want.
Food is (vitally) important!
When there's a lot going on, it's easy to forget or not have time to cook. Stock up on lunch boxes at home and bring them to campus so you don't go hungry. There are eateries on campus and some activities include food, but it's always a good idea to have a lunch box in the fridge.
And of course, if something happens, if you feel unsafe or just want to get to know someone, we at the union are always on hand. Come by us at Expen, the union's expedition in the union house located in Alnarpsparken. Our address is Sundsvägen 9, 234 56 Alnarp.
